Bodegas Manzanos Haro Wine Park, Hotel & Spa Presentation

Yesterday, Tuesday, May 14, the BODEGAS MANZANOS HARO WINE PARK, HOTEL & SPA project was presented at the Palacio de Bendaña of Haro (La Rioja), city where the complex that will become the international wine tourism reference in the world will be located.

Bodegas Manzanos has already invested 40% of the total project cost, amounting to 20 million euros, and it aims to revive the heart of Haro as the birthplace of the Denomination of Origin Rioja.

BODEGAS MANZANOS HARO WINE PARK HOTEL & SPA will consist of the Palacio de Tejada, a palace of 3 floors with transitional style between baroque and neoclassical, dating from 1733, the antique Bodegas Berceo, whose foundation dates back to 1801, designed in Bordeaux style with 5 floors, whose underground cellars date from the Middle Ages, and three new buildings that we will start building soon.

The historic Palacio de Tejada will house the 3 luxurious suites of 100 m2 each of the future hotel, whose lobby will be the entrance to the winery through an underground tunnel that will be excavated only for this project. This tunnel will connect the Tejada Palace with a new building that will be built between Laín Calvo and Cuevas streets. This space is currently occupied by 5 abandoned buildings that the Fernández de Manzanos family has recently acquired and which will be demolished to start the construction of this macroproject.

This new building in an “L” of three floors + terrace will feature the wine museum, a space of 1,000 m2 on the floor -1, where live the history of Rioja and wine tradition of the Fernández de Manzanos family since 1890 , in addition to an auditorium for 50 people. The ground floor will be occupied by the hotel reception, the wine bar and shop, which is where we receive our visitors and customers. Next to it, we will open a Porsche Studio, that is, a dealership concept located in the centres of the big cities. There we can find new vehicles of the German brand Porsche, as well as equipment and accessories. We can also find new vehicles to enjoy both adults and children. The first floor of this building will house the Manzanos auditorium with capacity for 150 people. On the second floor we find the wine bar terrace, concept Food & Drinks, where you can enjoy tapas and traditional food of the region paired with the best wines of Manzanos.

On the same level, in Cuevas street we will find the main entrance to the old Bodegas Berceo, the first winery in the city of Haro since 1801, it has been restored safeguarding the Bordeaux style of its origin, keeping all the original elements of the winery, French wooden vats of 30,000 L., medieval caves that occupy the old galleries of the castle of Haro, concrete tanks, the first pressing machine revolver of the Rioja and a room of French-style barrels.

The current garden of the winery will be occupied by a large 4-storey building that will house on the ground floor a microvinification room with concrete and stainless-steel tanks of 5,000 L to make the premium range of our Rioja Alta wines. The first floor will be dedicated to tastings for tourists, with multisensory tasting rooms. The second and third floor will house a restaurant Chef reference in Spain, with 2 Michelin stars, and the third to come, and 27 suites of 90 m2 each to accommodate our guests with views of the skyline of Haro. On the terrace on the fourth floor, the “Building Spiral”, a glass building that will be an iconic element of the project will be erected.

This building will be an exclusive space, with a Roof top bar where you can enjoy an atmosphere of exclusive drinks with the best views of Haro, the Cantabria mountain range and the Ebro river. From this «Edificio Espiral» a slide is born that will save 15 floors altitude which takes the visitor back to the starting point. This differentiating and innovative element is an experience within the wine tourism visit in which you will feel the gravity that is our identity for making quality wines. From the reception of the grape, through the elaboration, aging in oak, aging in the bottle to the shop. It will end at Laín Calvo street, where the Tejada Palace is located. The wine tourism offer is completed with the routes on board Hummer through the vineyards.

This hotel, gastronomic and leisure offer will be complemented with a building annexed to the previous one with three floors that will house a warehouse, the bottling area, the spa with different types of baths and treatments in the cabin and a terrace with solarium and an outdoor infinity pool overlooking Cantabria mountain range and the vineyards of Rioja Alta.

BODEGAS MANZANOS HARO WINE PARK, HOTEL & SPA will combine the world of wine, leisure, gastronomy and passion for cars in a single universe suitable for all.

Bodegas Manzanos is part of the Manzanos Enterprises group. It is currently the third group in terms of volume and the first in added value and margin of the DO Navarra and is among the top 10 of the DOCa Rioja. The company was founded in 1890 but it is from the incorporation of the fifth generation of the Fernández de Manzanos family in 2010 when it undergoes an enormous organic growth (it already has ten wineries spread between the Rioja DOCa, the DO Navarra and wines from Spain) as inorganic through the acquisition of businesses according to its diversification strategy. In addition to the purchase of the Peñaclara water bottling company (2014) and the Porsche Center of Pamplona (2015), and the Porsche Vitoria Center (2018), Víctor, Laura and David have mainly focused on the international expansion of their Manzanos wines brands , Voché, Berceo, Primi Luis Gurpegui, Castillo de Enériz, Siglo, Las Campanas, Castillo de Olite and Pegaso. The sales have increased from 1.3 million euros in 2010 to 42 million euros in the last eight years and have a human team that has grown from 11 workers in 2010 to 166 today. The support of this talented team that, like its direction, is characterized by its youth, its international formation, passion and ambition with which they work, has been key to this growth.
